Grand Opening Announced for New Reno Restaurant
Wet Hen Café Aims to Bring the Community Together by
Supporting and Promoting Local Growth
Get ready to entertain your passion for fresh and fun food as the official Grand Opening of Wet Hen Cafe is set for Saturday May 7th.
Described as a quaint little American café with a French flair, Wet Hen Café will encompass the community in a Grand Opening that is sure to please the entire family. Visit with vendors including Pet Chef Express, Scraps Dog Company, Sierra Sweet Life, Great Basin Food Coop, Dog Training by P.J. and Paper Moon. Enjoy art from local artists Kari Cashen from Blue Fly Studio, Lady Jill Mueller, Dotty Molt and Ann O'Lear. Learn first aid for your pet from an American Red Cross Certified Pet First Aid Instructor, enjoy a coffee tasting by Blind Dog Coffee or adopt a new best buddy from Nevada Humane Society. Check out Red Storm Photography by KOLO 8 News Now's Dennis Flack or dance to live music from The High Roller Band. You can even shop for a new ride as Winkel Family Automotive will have select cars for sale. Enter the raffle for a chance to win awesome prizes, and know that you're helping out homeless pets, as proceeds will benefit Nevada Humane Society.

"At Wet Hen we believe that part of our purpose is to share in the responsibility of promoting the well-being of others, including the community and those around us," said Brandon Wade, kitchen manager and son of the owners at Wet Hen Cafe. "Our ingredients come from local growers and suppliers, as do the retail products we have featured on our shelves."
Founded and incorporated in 2010, Wet Hen Café came bursting out of an egg of family dreams, and a passion for succulent home cooking. The uniquely titled eatery embodies family history, a love of mouth-watering cuisine, support for the surrounding community, and a desire to give people an experience they won't forget. Whether it be superior customer service, a pleasant vibe, or the ability to actually sit back and enjoy real and fresh flavors cascading over your tongue; Wet Hen Café has a place and a plate for you.
Jackie Handlin, owner of Wet Hen Café, explains that her dream of opening a restaurant isn't just for her family; it's for the advantage of her community too. "As we grow," Jackie said, "it is our mission to make sure that you, your family and friends, other local small businesses and charities alike are benefitting from our presence."

Wet Hen Café's Grand Opening is Saturday, May 7, from 11:00am until 3:00pm. The restaurant is located at 3979 South McCarran Boulevard in Reno, on the corner of Longley Lane.
